Thought for the Day: Barb Horcha
Approval of Minutes:  Minutes approved without objection and placed on file.
Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer’s Report was filed for audit. Ann Beagle advised that there had been a couple of                         donation deposits and that the $6,200 will be transferred into the Foundation Account prior to April 15, 2020.
Committee Reports:
  • Service Committee: C. Stubbs reported that applications and letters were mailed this week. Grants are capped at $3,000 and Michigan School for the Deaf has already received their $1,700.
  • Trivia Night: C. Stubbs reported on the teams and prizes.  She advised that gift cards in the amount of $10, $15, and $20 are needed.  Also need a $50 gift for the best themed table.
  • Tea: B. Horcha reported that she has signed a contract with the Chef and will give him the deposit on May 9th.  There will be several items for the Silent Auction.  We can bring our own Tea Sets.  A Save the Date will be mailed out.  There will be a 50/50 Raffle or a Quilt Raffle or both.
  • Food Bank: We have a date of March 14, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.  We need volunteers, so bring your friends and neighbors and let’s get it done.
Presidents Reports: Chair Horcha reported that Quota had a table at the Voices for Children Breakfast and for Genesee Youth Corporations Bead in the Bayou.  March will be busy with our Trivia event and working at the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.  There will be a Program Meeting on March 19th, at Sam’s Italian Restaurant on Grand Blanc Road in Rankin.
Survey Monkey:  On April 25th, there will be a Regional Meeting in Lansing.  This will be a good opportunity to see about being part of a larger group. The decision will be made further down the line regarding the Flint Clubs ideas to join or not. There has been discussion regarding funding for the hearing impaired. Although they are funded by the Government, they have no other funding source.  Many of us want to continue our support and keep our Mission the same.  If our Club is going to be viable, we need to all step up and bring people to the Tea, buy a table for the Trivia Games, etc.  We don’t need to increase our dues, but maybe we shouldn’t decrease them either.  It is getting harder for us to do the Chicken Dinners, but maybe if we join another group and split the proceeds, that will help.  For a fundraiser at Collette’s, the sales begin May 1st.  $15 for a spot, and it’s first come, first served.  We need to bring our own tables and chairs and things to sell.  We’ll see how the DAR does before finalizing our decision.
Next meeting is Thursday, March 19, 2020.
Meeting adjourned at 1:00 p.m.
Respectfully submitted by Pam Nelson, Recording Secretary
